The Minutemen fell 7-1 to No. 14 Boston College on Friday night, a deficit the team hasn’t seen since 2005. In that year, again against the Eagles, UMass fell by a score of 7-0, but since then never lost a game by six or more goals until last Friday.

With 21 points by the Minutemen in the final 3:45 of Saturday’s game at Rhode Island, it seemed they might overcome any late deficit. But once again, UMass fell behind too much too early and could not rebound like they’ve done so often this season.
